He found an opportunity to be introduced to a great and famous professor of mathematics Johann Bernoulli, who in turn told him to start reading more difficult books on mathematics on his own and to study them as diligently as he could.
If he came across difficulty or something that he could not understand, professor Bernoulli told young Euler, he should visit him on Sunday afternoons for an explanation. This is what Euler did - and became more and more interested in the subject.
